Sarah is a Project Manager at Gannett Fleming where she is responsible for design and management of water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure projects. She received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with a Minor in Environmental Engineering from the University of Delaware. Sarah has been an active member in the Maryland Section of ASCE since 2013 and currently serves as the Vice President.
Alyssa is a Senior Project Engineer in the Environmental practice area of Barton & Loguidice in Annapolis, MD. Her past and current work experience includes stormwater management, drainage design, erosion & sediment control design, stormwater management inspections, construction oversight, 1D/2D H&H modelling, and other duties of engineering design and construction. Alyssa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering with a secondary major in Spanish and a minor in Earth & Planetary Sciences from The Johns Hopkins University. She holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., and is a licensed Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP). Alyssa has served on the executive board of ASCE Maryland Younger Member Group for many years, most recently as President for the 2023-2024 term. She served as the Maryland Section's Younger Member Director during the 2023-2024 term and as the Section's Secretary during the 2024-2025 term. She is the Chair of the Professional Objectives Committee of ASCE Maryland Section, and is an Eastern Region Geographic Member of ASCE National's Committee on Younger Members. She was selected as the Young Civil Engineer of the Year by ASCE Maryland in 2022, and a New Face of Civil Engineering by ASCE (national society) in 2024. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys exploring new places, salsa dancing, and reading cute fiction novels.
Alvaro is a Senior Project Manager and the Maryland Transportation Market Lead at Jacobs. He has over 23 years of experience in multimodal transportation projects from the early feasibility stage, environmental process through final design. Alvaro has served as Project Manager and design/segment lead on many major highway and transit projects for clients throughout the east coast. Alvaro earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Master’s in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
Stephanie is a Senior Project Manager in the Building Structures division at McLaren, a division of KCI. She has been an active member in the Maryland Section of ASCE since 2012 and is currently serving as the Programs Chair and supports the hospitality group at check-in for the monthly meetings. Stephanie earned her Bachelor's and Master's of Engineering degrees from Cornell University, where she also participated in the school's ASCE chapter and was very active in the marching band. In her free time, she enjoys playing music and intramural sports in local community groups.
Jonathan is a Senior Hydrologic and Hydraulic Dams Engineer at AECOM with 11 years of practical engineering experience in the design, analysis, and construction of dams and a variety of civil and environmental engineering projects throughout the eastern region of the United States. Since 2015, he has been an active member of the Maryland Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, where he most recently served as Sponsorship Chair from 2023 to 2025. Jonathan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware. Outside of work, he enjoys running, cooking, hiking, and playing soccer.
Wade is a Department Manager at HNTB’s Baltimore Office with over 30 years of experience in civil engineering. Throughout his career, Wade has led a diverse portfolio of projects—from roadway design and program management to design-build and site/civil development. He has served as Project Manager and design/segment lead on major highway projects for clients in the Mid-Atlantic region. A proud alum of Clarkson University, Wade earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1995. It was there that he first joined the ASCE Student Chapter, sparking a lifelong commitment to the profession. Since then, he has remained a member of the Maryland Section of ASCE. Wade is a licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Beyond the office, he enjoys traveling and unwinding on the golf course.
Rachel is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Civil and Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, where she teaches undergraduate courses and manages the part-time master’s degree program in Civil Engineering through JHU’s Engineering for Professionals (EP). She is also the faculty advisor to the JHU Student Chapter of ASCE. Rachel earned her BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. In addition to her teaching experience, Rachel worked for three years as a design engineer in the bridge design group at Whitman, Requardt, and Associates, LLP in Baltimore. She has been serving on the ASCE-MD Board since 2017.
